Summer Sunday Shuttles

January 28, 2025

We are stoked to announce three new dates for our Summer Hūnua Traverse Sunday Shuttles.

📆Sunday, 16 February
📅Sunday, 16 March
📅Sunday, 13 April

Email us today to register your interest and enjoy this 44.5km ride through the Hūnua Ranges Regional Park, encompassing 26km of private gravel roads.

This shuttle service is run by the team The Y Camp Adair, with all proceeds going to their incredible work at the beloved Camp Adair in Hūnua.

Priced at $50pp, each shuttle can carry 11 people with a trailer suited to both muscle and e-bikes. The terrain is ideally suited to gravel bikes.

And with thanks to our mates at Hallertau Clevedon each shuttle rider receives a voucher for a free beer at their Clevedon Biergarten 🍻

Options available:
Option 1: Ride Kaiaua to Clevedon – Shuttle departs Clevedon at 8:30 am and 12:00 pm. Ride back in your own time.

Option 2: Ride Clevedon to Kaiaua – Shuttle departs Kaiaua at 10:00 am and 1:30 pm. Note that with the inclusion of the Mangatangi uphill (which we affectionately call “the dam wall”), this is considered a more challenging ride direction.

Two scenarios from Kaiaua:

  1. Park your car in Clevedon in the morning, ride to Kaiaua, and meet your designated shuttle outside The Pink Shop Kaiaua
  2. Park your car in Kaiaua, shuttle to Clevedon and ride back to Kaiaua in your own time.
For those interested in the latter (perfect for riders based in Waikato or Bay of Plenty), our shuttle driver is happy to drop you at the top of Otau Mountain Road, removing one grunty uphill (cutting approximately 8 km and 300 m elevation off your ride).

Next Steps:
If you’re interested in a seat on one of our Sunday shuttles ($50 pp), simply email hello@hunuatraverse.co.nz with your preferred shuttle date and time.
